Independent Commission for Aid Impact's Annual Report 2015-16

Inquiry

With a new Commission, a new Secretary of State in DFID and challenges presented by a new aid strategy, the Committee used its session on ICAI’s annual report this year to examine the evolving and increasingly important role of ICAI in scrutinising aid spending in the changing development context.

The Committee explored how well the Commission has transitioned to Phase II and the changes it has implemented to its reviews to ensure UK aid is spent effectively, while it also examined how well DFID is working with the new Commission and how it has responded to ICAI’s reviews of the department’s programmes.
