Inquiry

National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), broadly, has three responsibilities:

  • The development and publication of guidance for NHS health professionals and for those with responsibilities for the wider public health system;
  • The preparation of performance metrics for those providing and commissioning healthcare for NHS patients;
  • A range of information services for the NHS and for those providing public health and social care services.

The aim of all these programmes is to improve outcomes for those using the NHS and other health and social care services.
