Energy intensive industries compensation scheme

Inquiry

A report by the Committee on Carbon Budgets in October 2011 looked at the issue of ‘carbon leakage’ for energy intensive industries, where emissions-related taxation might drive such industries to relocate to countries with lower carbon taxes. The Committee examined the rationale and design for the Government’s proposed compensation scheme for those industries.
