The Committee is holding a one-off evidence session with the new Defence Secretary to discuss his priorities for, and the challenges faced by, the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces. Topics that the session is expected to cover include the defence budget, historical allegations, the situation in the Gulf and recruitment and retention.
