Housing Ombudsman Pre-appointment Hearing inquiry

Inquiry

The Housing Ombudsman is responsible for the Housing Ombudsman Service, an independent and impartial body established by law to resolve disputes involving tenants and leaseholders of social landlords, including housing associations and local authorities.

A pre-appointment hearing is an opportunity for a select committee to scrutinise the quality of ministerial decision making over appointments. It will also assess a candidate’s suitability for their appointment, including their knowledge, skills and independence.
