Government draft Public Service Ombudsman Bill inquiry

Inquiry

The Committee will scrutinise the Government’s draft Public Service Ombudsman Bill at a one-off public session. The draft Bill abolishes the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) and the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) and creates a Public Service Ombudsman (PSO), which will take over their responsibilities. While the Housing Ombudsman (HO) would continue unaffected, the draft Bill contains provisions to allow some of the HO’s responsibilities to be taken over by the PSO at a later date.
