The Joint Committee on Human Rights is calling for evidence on a number of forthcoming Bills. Whilst the Committee will undertake some scrutiny of all public Government Bills, it will focus its scrutiny on those Bills which are likely to engage significant human rights issues.
The Committee has selected the Mental Health Act reform and proposed legislation as one of its priority Bills for this parliamentary session. The Committee considers that the Bill set out in the Government's Legislative Programme for 2019-21 is likely to raise significant human rights issues.
