The non-inquiry sessions are likely to:

  • Understand the impact of bank branch closures on Scottish communities and workers
  • Assess measures to ensure access to cash for consumers in Scotland
  • Analyse the viability of alternatives to ATMs and bank branches, including the Post Office network
  • Assess whether the coronavirus pandemic has highlighted weaknesses in the UK’s cash network and/or accelerated the move to digital banking
