Legislative Scrutiny: Health Service Safety Investigations Bill

Legislative scrutiny

he Joint Committee on Human Rights is calling for evidence on a number of forthcoming Bills. Whilst the Committee will undertake some scrutiny of all public Government Bills, it will focus its scrutiny on those Bills which are likely to engage significant human rights issues.

The Committee has selected seven priority Bills and proposed legislation for this Parliamentary session. However, the Committeee considers that human rights issues may also arise in the Health Service Safety Investigations Bill.

Get involved

Submissions of no more than 1,500 words are invited from interested groups and individuals on:

  • Any significant human rights issues raised or likely to be raised by the Bills identified above
  • Whether the Bills could do more to enhance the protection of human rights.

Short submissions drawing the Committee's attention to human rights issues raised by any other Bills in the Government’s legislative programme are also welcome on a rolling basis.
