Health and Homelessness

Non-inquiry session

This evidence session will examine the progress the Government and the NHS are making on the commitment in the National Plan to End Homelessness (December 2025) that no one eligible for homelessness assistance should be discharged to the street after a hospital stay. The session also aims to understand the models of discharge support and intermediate care available to people experiencing homelessness, how they affect patients, and how provision has changed since the Plan. It will consider how consistently hospitals record housing status on admission and discharge, and whether better data would support delivery.
