Lords committee to explore existing work on adult social care
On Monday, 14 March, the Adult Social Care Committee holds its second public evidence session, to explore past, and ongoing, work on adult social care undertaken by the Archbishops’ Commission on Reimagining Care, the Select Committee on Health and Social Care, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Adult Social Care and the National Audit Office.

- The work, if any, that has been undertaken on the invisibility of adult social care, the assumptions underlying the current social care system, and practical solutions that can improve the experiences of those who rely on care and those providing unpaid care.
- How, if at all, the Government’s proposed reforms tackle concerns about the lack of a long-term vision for care and concerns that short-term funding is hampering local authorities’ ability to innovate and plan for the long-term.
- Reforms that witnesses would like to see prioritised with regards to adult social care workforce and funding, and how these would align with the Government’s proposed reforms.
- How, if at all, witnesses have explored the often-complex relationships between unpaid carers and those for whom they care.
