Economic Affairs Committee to hold first oral evidence sessions on UK energy supply and investment

On Tuesday 22 February at 3pm, the Economic Affairs Committee holds its first evidence sessions on UK energy supply and investment. In the first session, the Committee will hear from Julian Critchlow, former Director General of Energy Transformation and Clean Growth at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (2018 - March 2021). In the second session, the Committee will hear from Paul Spence, Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs, EDF and Emma Pinchbeck, Chief Executive, Energy UK.

The committee’s inquiry is investigating if the Government’s energy strategy is delivering investment in an energy supply that is resilient, affordable and in line with achieving net zero emissions. The focus of this inquiry is on long-term energy policy and trends in the energy market.
