In this session, the cross-party committee of MPs will question witnesses from health think-tanks and representatives of the supported housing sector, as well as from the Institute of Economic Affairs and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Among the topics likely to be discussed are the Government’s forthcoming reforms to the health and social care sector – the Integration and Innovation White Paper announced in February; the Build Back Better Health and Social Care Plan announced in September; and the People at the Heart of Care White Paper published this month.
MPs will also ask about funding pressures facing adult social care into the future, taking into account the planned charging reforms, the increase in National Insurance Contributions and National Minimum Wage.
There will also be questions about the types of accommodation that should be offered to people who need care, and how accommodation should be funded.
