The session, with witnesses from high street giant Timpson and property developer Williams Homes, will explore whether the prison education system is providing the necessary skills to make ex-offenders employable.

The session will also look at the support that the Government provides to businesses to encourage and make it easier for them to work and collaborate with prisons.

The cross-party Committee of MPs may ask the panel about the Government’s announcement that it will establish local Employment Boards in all resettlement prisons, and that dedicated Employment Advisers will be introduced in prisons.
