Lords to quiz experts on post-Brexit intergovernmental cooperation on health
The House of Lords Common Frameworks Scrutiny Committee will tomorrow question health experts, looking at the policy areas covered by the Blood Safety and Quality Framework, Organs, Tissues and Cells Framework, and the unpublished Public Health Protection and Health Security Framework.
Meeting details
Possible questions that may be asked by the Committee include:
- What did cooperation between the four administrations in health look like before Brexit and how important were EU rules and regulations in this?
- Is there sufficient transparency in the ways that the four administrations cooperate?
- What would be the effect of regulatory divergence between the UK and Northern Ireland as a result of the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland?
- How important are commercial bodies to the supply of Substances of Human Origin and to what extent do you expect the UK Internal Market Act 2020 to be used in this area?
