Scope of the session

The first panel of this evidence session, with the Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, will cover the Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme and some of the concerns raised during our last evidence session on this topic, particularly regarding the Scheme’s 50:50 surplus sharing arrangements.

The second panel of this evidence session, with the Rt Hon Kwasi Kwarteng MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Sarah Munby, the BEIS Permanent Secretary, will cover a range of policy areas within the remit of the Department, including: Coronavirus support for businesses, the Plan for Growth and Industrial Strategy, the Green Homes Grant, Net Zero, and employment law and workers rights. The session will also cover some topical developments, including the collapse of Greensill Capital and OneWeb.
