How do businesses and investors prepare for risks?
On 24 March, following Covid-19's severe impact on the economy, the Select Committee on Risk Assessment and Risk Planning will hear from business experts on different sectors’ handling of risks, how this compares to the Government’s approach to risk management, and what impact the Covid-19 pandemic will have on the way businesses and investors assess and plan for extreme risks.
Meeting details
Possible questions include:
- How can we improve the way that Government, businesses and investors approach longer-term risk? How can resilience become a virtue and a selling point?
- Before the pandemic hit, how aware were the business and investment sectors about the impact or demands of a disruptive national hazard?
- How might the current pandemic impact on how business and investors will approach and manage risk in the future?
- How are investors managing climate change risk in particular? What lessons can we learn about how to encourage further sustainable investment?
