On Tuesday the Education Committee continues its scrutiny of the government’s education reforms with another evidence session on the ‘Every Child Achieving and Thriving’ White Paper.

MPs will ask witnesses for their views on some of the government’s key proposals for schools policy, including encouraging schools to join or form trusts, changes to the admissions code, new missions for the north-east and coastal areas, changes to accountability scores such as Progress 8 and a new model for targeting funding for disadvantaged children.
MPs are also likely to ask witnesses about the White Paper’s overall focus on place and on reducing the disadvantage gap across the school system. They may also ask whether schools are prepared for all the new measures they are being asked to take on through these reforms.
