AI in education: revolution or evolution? MPs explore
On Tuesday, the Education Committee will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the world of work and learning as the Committee begins its new inquiry on the use of AI and EdTech (educational technology) in education.
Meeting details
During the first panel, MPs will ask witnesses what impact AI, described by the British Chambers of Commerce as “the industrial revolution of our age”, is having in the workplace and therefore on the skills needed of young people as they leave the education system.
The first panel is also likely to cover the impact of AI on entry-level jobs, young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs) and on the school system.
In the session’s second panel, witnesses will set out the current role of AI and EdTech within education, including how it is used by teachers, lecturers and early years practitioners, and the impact it could have on the learning process and on assessment.
