Review Chair Lord Brennan and DCMS Minister Ian Murray will appear before the Culture, Media and Sport Committee to discuss the findings and recommendations of the independent fan-led review of live and electronic music.

Minister of State at Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport
Deputy Director, Creative Industries at Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

The review, which was set up by the committee and published in April, called on all those with an interest in the sustainability of music to commit to a new Fans’ Charter, which sets out nearly 50 recommendations under seven key principles – or ‘essentials of live’ - of celebration, ticketing, grassroots, safety, accessibility, transport and voice.

In the first part of the hearing, Lord Brennan will be invited to discuss his views on the government’s response to the review, while there will also likely be questions on how best to support grassroots music venues and reforms to the ticketing market.

The committee will then question Mr Murray, with the minister likely to be asked about the government’s new Music Plan which was published in July, and the extent to which government policy reflects the findings of the fan-led review.
