Justice and Home Affairs Committee holds fifth and sixth evidence sessions for their Fire Safety in Prisons inquiry
On Tuesday 30 June the Committee will hear first from the Crown Premises Fire Safety Inspectorate (CPFSI), followed by Lord Timpson OBE, Minister for Prisons, Probation, and Reducing Reoffending and James McEwen, CEO, HM Prisons and Probation Service.
Witnesses from CPFSI will be: Andrew Fry and Lee Howell, joint Chief Inspectors and Justin Ashburn, Team Leader for Custodial Premises.
Purpose
These are the final sessions examining the topic of Fire Safety in Prisons. The Committee are expected to explore how effectively fire safety in prisons is regulated, and what steps the Government are taking to improve fire safety in prisons.
