Committee opens inquiry on how Government works with the defence industry
The Industry and Regulators Committee is launching a new inquiry into the relationship between the Government and the defence industry. It will hold its first session on Tuesday 9 June 2026, starting the inquiry by hearing from Kevin Craven, the CEO of ADS and Andrew Kinniburgh, Director-General of Defence at Make UK. The Committee will question how far the Government has come in implementing the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, and what needs to change to meet the ambition to increase defence spending and investment. The Committee will also discuss how SMEs and innovation can be supported throughout the supply chain, and what steps need to be taken to ensure the supply chain is secure and has the capacity to deliver what is needed.
