Dame Antonia Romeo to make first Committee appearance as Cabinet Secretary 

Next Monday, the Cabinet Secretary, Dame Antonia Romeo, will make her first appearance in front of the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC) since taking up the role in February. 

The purpose of the session is to understand the Cabinet Secretary’s priorities in the role, particularly in relation to civil service reform, how Whitehall intends to harness the benefits of AI, devolution and the Union.

Questions may also cover the Cabinet Office’s role in vetting, following the recent controversy over the appointment of Peter Mandelson as the UK’s Ambassador in the USA. 

Following the announcement that the Government intends to update the Cabinet Manual, MPs may also look to cover this topic with the Cabinet Secretary.
