Government’s Preferred candidate for the Commissioner for Public Appointments to be assessed by MPs

The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC) will hold a pre-appointment hearing with the Government’s preferred candidate, Fiona Cannon OBE, for the role of Commissioner for Public Appointments.

The Commissioner regulates how ministers make appointments to the boards of public bodies, ensuring appointments are merit-based and made in accordance with the Governance Code for Public Appointments.
