Housing Committee examines the quality of new build homes
On Tuesday, the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee will question representatives from major housebuilders Vistry Group and Taylor Wimpey, the Home Builders Federation, and housing policy experts on the quality of new build homes as part of the Committee’s inquiry on housing conditions in England.

The evidence session will look at how concerns around the quality of new homes, including major defects and safety issues and problems with damp and mould, are dealt with.
MPs will examine existing consumer protections and explore the effectiveness of the regulatory framework in ensuring the quality of newly built homes.
The cross-party Committee is also likely to explore the ability of developers to meet the Government’s target to deliver 1.5million homes in this Parliament while maintaining quality.
