Are the FCA's attempts to combat financial crime working?

After a discussion about topical issues, financial crime will be the focus of this Treasury Committee session with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

The session will be split into two panels. For the first section, Nikhil Rathi and Ashley Alder will appear alongside the Deputy Chief Executive, Sarah Pritchard, to discuss topical issues. This is likely to include subjects such as motor finance and reforms to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

This will be followed by a discussion about the regulator’s role in tackling financial crime. For this panel, Mr Rathi will be joined by the Chief Data, Information and Intelligence Officer, Jessica Rusu, and Joint Executive Director for Enforcement and Market Oversight, Steve Smart.

Issues which may be covered in this section include cryptocurrencies, fraud and the role of ‘finfluencers’.
