Can the MOD deliver? Permanent Secretary and National Armaments Director to give evidence
The new Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Jeremy Pocklington, will give evidence to the Defence Committee from 10.30 on Tuesday, 17 March.
Meeting details
The session is part of an annual series on the MOD’s Annual Reports and Accounts and focuses primarily on the department’s finance and administration. This year, the session takes place against a backdrop of global conflict – including in Ukraine and the Middle East – placing demands on the military. The ongoing challenges the department faces in its delivery of large-scale projects and the delays to the Defence Investment Plan, have caused uncertainty and concern.
The Permanent Secretary will appear alongside the National Armaments Director, Rupert Pearce; Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (Force Development) Air Marshal Tim Jones; and the Director General Finance, Aneen Blackmore.
The session will be wide-ranging, covering military readiness and personnel matters, as well as defence modernisation, acquisition and finance.
