OBR inquiry continues with evidence from experts and academics
The Treasury Committee will continue its inquiry into the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
Meeting details
MPs will hear from the Resolution Foundation, the New Economics Foundation, a fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs and a Professor of Political Economy at the University of Warwick.
The Committee will be seeking to explore the view of think-tanks and academia on the challenges the OBR faces. This is likely to include looking at the framework for assessing the Government’s fiscal performance and whether changes to the OBR’s communications could reduce uncertainty in the run-up to a Budget.
In the first session of this inquiry, MPs heard from both former Chairs of the OBR.
