Minister for Migration and Citizenship to give evidence to the Justice and Home Affairs Committee
On Tuesday 10 March the House of Lords is questioning Mike Tapp MP, Minister for Migration and Citizenship, and Dan Hobbs, Director General for the Migration and Borders Group at the Home Office. The session will be bring to a close the evidence gathering for the Committee’s investigation into settlement, citizenship and integration.
Purpose of the session
The Committee will cover a range of topics, including recent announcements on changes to the asylum rules. The Committee will ask about applying immigration rules retrospectively, the costs of applying for citizenship, and the Life in the UK test. The session will also focus on the performance of the Home Office, looking at the collection of exit data, the use of Impact Assessments, and the rationale behind recently announced proposals.
