Review of Arts Council England (Non-inquiry session)
The independent review, published in December, was commissioned by the Government to examine the role and effectiveness of ACE, which is responsible for distributing funds to arts, cultural organisations, museums and libraries across England.
The CMS Committee session will explore the findings of the review, which made recommendations relating to strengthening ACE’s independence from government and reducing administrative burdens for grant applicants. It also proposed a range of fiscal and structural reforms to support the arts sector.
The Committee will take evidence from Arts Council England at a later date.
