Egg donation and freezing: MPs to hear from health practitioners and stakeholders

The Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) will hear from health practitioners and stakeholders during the second evidence session of its inquiry into Egg donation and freezing on Wednesday, 11 February.

MPs on the cross-party committee, chaired by Labour MP Sarah Owen, will discuss the procedures involved in egg donation and freezing, and key issues relating to current practice and the experiences of donors and women who freeze their eggs.

During the first panel with stakeholders, discussion is expected to focus on the regulatory framework for both egg donation and egg freezing, associated health impacts, advertising and the level of compensation for egg donation.

The second panel with health practitioners will explore counselling and donor recruitment practices.
