Financial inclusion inquiry kicks off with opening session
The first session of the Treasury Committee's inquiry into the Government’s Financial Inclusion Strategy will take place next Tuesday morning.

The panel will be made up of experts and academics. Representatives from the Financial Inclusion Commission and the Financial Inclusion and Markets Centre will be joined by academics who have studied how to tackle financial exclusion.
MPs are likely to ask for the witnesses' assessment of the Government's approach. Questions may cover whether the Financial Inclusion Strategy identifies and addresses the key barriers to inclusion, and whether it is likely to achieve meaningful and measurable change.
The Committee’s inquiry into the Government’s Financial Inclusion Strategy was launched in November 2025.
