Management companies – Housing Committee question FirstPort and Rendall & Rittner
On Tuesday, the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee will question property management company bosses from FirstPort and Rendall & Rittner on issues including quality of service and service charges.
Meeting details
MPs will question Martin King, Managing Director, FirstPort, Catherine Riva, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Rendall and Rittner Ltd, and Andrew Bulmer, Chief Executive, The Property Institute.
The evidence session will be examining concerns around complaints of high charges and slow repairs and the panel’s views on the Government’s consultation to reduce the prevalence of ‘fleecehold’ estates, including proposals to ban embedded management arrangements in property deeds.
This latest session follows previous Committee work on property management companies. The HCLG Committee held an evidence session on property management companies on Tuesday 17 June. Martin King, Managing Director, FirstPort was part of a panel of witnesses questioned by the HCLG Committee on 17 June. The Committee also wrote to FirstPort and Rendall & Rittner in July (see news story for more details of their responses).
