Egg donation and freezing: MPs to hear evidence from clinics

The Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) will hear evidence from academics, clinics and stakeholders during the third session of its inquiry into Egg donation and freezing.

MPs on the cross-party committee, chaired by Labour MP Sarah Owen, will discuss the current regulatory framework for both egg donation and egg freezing including international comparisons and research, and hear evidence on concerns from the LGBT community.

During the second panel with clinics, the Committee will explore treatment costs, funding and donor recruitment.

The inquiry’s previous evidence sessions have included discussion on the processes of egg donation and egg freezing, associated health impacts, advertising and the level of compensation for egg donation.
