MPs explore UK’s international standing in space and global health
The Science, Innovation and Technology Committee will hold the next evidence session of its Science Diplomacy inquiry on Tuesday 27 January at 9.30am. The session will explore the UK's global standing in health science and the UK's space sector.
The cross-party committee will first hear from Gavi, which works to secure access to critical vaccines in low-income countries. MPs may ask for views on the UK’s reputation in addressing global health issues and the impact of cuts to overseas aid.
Meeting details
Members will then question UKSpace and the former CEO of the UK Space Agency on the UK’s position within the space sector, the UK’s capability specialisation, and our relationship with the European Space Agency and the US.
The committee will then hear from the Seraphim Space Investment Trust, which describes itself as the first listed SpaceTech Fund. Cross-government responsibility for space policy, SpaceX and dual-use technologies could be discussed.
