Housing Committee examines conditions in temporary accommodation
We will question policy experts, charity and council representatives on conditions in temporary accommodation as part of the Committee’s inquiry on housing conditions in England.
Meeting details
The evidence session will be examining views on the Government’s proposals to improve the quality of temporary accommodation, through the National Plan to End Homelessness.
The cross-party Committee will explore what impact introducing the Decent Homes Standard, and extending Awaab’s law, would have on improving the condition of temporary accommodation.
The session will look at how far the Government’s plans address the drivers of poor conditions in temporary accommodation and what actions the Government can take in the short to medium term before new supply becomes available.
