How is the Government handling major threats to national security? MPs and Peers question ministers
On Monday government ministers and the Deputy National Security Adviser (DNSA) will give evidence on the UK’s approach to tackling major national security challenges in the final session of a committee inquiry on the National Security Strategy (NSS).
The cross-party Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy has been scrutinising the Government’s new National Security Strategy, published in August 2025, which sets out how ministers will respond to the major threats facing the UK.
MPs and Peers will question Darren Jones, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster; Dan Jarvis, Minister for Security; and Matt Collins, Deputy National Security Adviser, on how the Government is delivering on priorities outlined in the National Security Strategy.
