Policing Minister, West Midlands Police and PCC questioned on Maccabi Tel Aviv fan ban

The Home Affairs Committee will hold a one-off session to examine the decision making around the policing of the Europa League match between Aston Villa and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans had been prohibited from attending the fixture, a decision that was later reviewed. The club declined to accept a ticket allocation.

In this session the committee will examine the evidence base and decision making around the ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and subsequent review of that decision. It will also examine the wider political and community context, and policing challenges in maintaining order around high risk football matches.
