Committee to quiz Science and Technology Secretary, Liz Kendall 

The Science, Innovation and Technology Committee will question the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, Liz Kendall.  

This will be Liz Kendall’s first appearance in front of the Committee following her appointment in September 2025 and will be an opportunity to explore her first months in the role and her priorities for the department.

The session will be wide-ranging, and the cross-party committee may investigate the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology’s (DSIT) spending review settlement, plans for scientific research funding and the future of the UKRI.  

The committee could ask about the Online Safety Act’s enforcement and its implementation by Ofcom, as well as its plans for Digital IDs.
