Committee to question ExxonMobil on Mossmorran closure 

The Scottish Affairs Committee will hold a one-off evidence session exploring the closure of ExxonMobil’s Mossmorran chemical plant in Fife on Wednesday 17 December at 9:30am.

In the session, the cross-party committee will first hear from representatives of Fife Council and Unite the Union on the impact of the plant’s closure on workers and the local community, and the UK Government’s response to the closure. 

In the second panel, MPs will question ExxonMobile UK Chair, Paul Greenwood, and the Chemical Industries Association, on the decision to close the site, the impact of the UK’s current regulatory environment on this decision, and potential job losses.
