Condition of homes in England – Housing Committee examine regulation and enforcement
On Tuesday morning, the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee will examine issues of regulation and enforcement of conditions in the social rented sector and private rented sector, as part of its inquiry on the condition of homes in England.

The Committee has also written to Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook to follow up on a series of questions relating to the social housing and private rented sector which have been raised during the condition of homes in England inquiry.
The cross-party committee will examine the approaches to regulating and enforcing standards in rented sectors, looking at treatment of residents, inspections, consumer regulation and the likely impact of Renters’ Rights Act.
The Committee will be hearing from the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH) and also from witnesses working in local authorities across different parts of the country about the regulation and enforcement of standards in the private rented sector.
