George Osborne and Sir Vince Cable to be questioned by Committee ahead of 2025 Budget
Former Cabinet ministers, Rt. Hon George Osborne CH and Rt. Hon Sir Vince Cable, will appear in front of MPs next Wednesday, as the Treasury Committee continues its series looking ahead to the Chancellor's November Budget.
Meeting details
Members of the Committee will be seeking the views of both witnesses based on their experiences in government, with George Osborne serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2010 - 2016 and Sir Vince Cable as Secretary of State for Business from 2010 – 2015.
This session follows three previous Committee hearings related to the 2025 Budget, on general tax options, gambling tax and child poverty. MPs may, therefore, question the former ministers on these issues based on what they have heard from experts on those subjects.
Members of the Committee may also choose to ask the former ministers on the Government’s overall economic and fiscal strategy.
