Official Secrets Acts: JCNSS publishes evidence from top ministers and officials ahead of evidence sessions

Next week the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy will hear evidence from senior government ministers and officials on government decision-making in relation to espionage cases.

On Monday afternoon, the cross-party Committee will hear evidence from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Cabinet Secretary and Deputy National Security Adviser. On Wednesday morning, the Attorney General and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster will give evidence. Both sessions will be in public and broadcast live on parliamentlive.tv.

Ahead of the sessions, the Committee is today publishing four letters from those giving evidence, which contain responses to the Committee’s questions on the government and ministerial processes involved in handling espionage cases.
