Sexual health services: MPs examine how NHS can adapt to trends and challenges
The Health and Social Care Committee will examine how sexual and reproductive health services in England should adapt to changing demands from new demographic and behavioural trends.

The Committee will also consider evolving trends such as changes in STI rates and contraceptive use, the influence of social media platforms, and the need for strategic coordination and improved data to support future planning.
Experts from front line charities, professionals associations and the health service will be asked about the impact of funding pressures, fragmented commissioning, and rising demand.
MPs will be interested to hear witnesses’ views on whether the NHS should develop a sexual health strategy in order to take a long-term view of commissioning that would improve resilience and help meet changing types of demand.
There may also be questions on how effective strategies could reduce inequalities and improve access to services among minority groups of different ethnic backgrounds, genders and sexualities.
