Defence reform programme to be scrutinised by MPs

Dr Andrew Curtis OBE, Author of 'We Need to Talk about Defence: Reforming Contemporary Defence Management' and Matthew Savill MBE, Director of Military Sciences, Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) will give evidence to the Defence Committee at 10.00 on Wednesday 12 November.

In this session, MPs will examine the reform programme currently being undertaken by the Ministry of Defence and are likely to explore the problems it is attempting to solve.

MPs will likely consider the challenges of previous reform programmes undertaken both in the UK and internationally, and ask what lessons can be learned from them. The timescale needed to achieve the reforms, and the structures in place to support their implementation may also be discussed.

Given that this reform programme has not been preceded by a Command Paper, the Committee could also question the level of transparency and engagement of the programme so far.
