Preferred candidate for Registrar of Consultant Lobbyists to appear in front of MPs
The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC) will hold a pre-appointment hearing with the government’s preferred candidate for the role of Registrar of Consultant Lobbyists, Claire Bassett.
The Registrar, established under the 2014 Lobby Act, is responsible for managing the UK’s Register of Consultant Lobbyists. The Registrar has issued guidance to clarify what consultant lobbyists on the Register are required to disclose in terms of their lobbying activity and can conduct investigations into suspected breaches of the registration requirements.
