MPs quiz ministers on housebuilding plans and environmental targets
MPs on the Environmental Audit Committee will quiz Government ministers on their plans to achieve ambitious housebuilding targets without sacrificing climate and nature goals.
The Government has committed to building 1.5 million new homes by the end of the Parliament. But critics question whether this can be achieved without undermining the Government’s other goals on protecting nature and biodiversity and reducing carbon emissions.

Topics for discussion could include:

- Whether the Nature Restoration Fund could roll back protections for nature

- Whether skills shortages in ecology, construction and planning could threaten housebuilding targets
- How ministers are working together across departments
