Government to be pressed on transition costs of new chemicals regime
The EU Environment Sub-Committee will raise concerns with Defra Secretary of State George Eustice, and senior Government officials from other Departments, about the new regulatory regime for chemicals.

Members will be asking the Secretary of State and Government officials about:
- The Government’s aims for chemicals in the UK-EU future partnership agreement.
- Transition costs for businesses of the new regulatory regime for chemicals, and the impact of these costs on the wider economy and consumers.
- The readiness of the Health and Safety Executive to perform its chemicals regulation role from 1 January 2021.
