WEC to examine Black homelessness in new inquiry
The Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) will hold the first evidence session of its new inquiry into Black homelessness in Parliament on Tuesday, 25 November.

MPs on the cross-party committee, chaired by Labour MP Sarah Owen, will hear from campaigning charities including Crisis and Shelter, as well as an academic from Heriot-Watt University who has undertaken research into this area.
The new inquiry examines the key drivers for Black homelessness and what the Government should do, including in its upcoming cross-departmental homelessness strategy, to address it.
The Committee invites written submissions through the inquiry webpage addressing any or all of the issues raised in the terms of reference by January 12, 2026.
