WEC to explore attitudes towards immigration following protests
The Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) will examine attitudes towards immigration during the fourth evidence session of its inquiry into community cohesion on Wednesday, 12 November.
Meeting details
MPs on the cross-party committee, chaired by Labour MP Sarah Owen, will hear from senior representatives of HOPE not hate, British Future and the media.
Discussion is expected to focus on the current state of community cohesion a year on from the 2024 summer riots and in the wake of the recent wave of protests.
MPs will assess the underlying drivers of public sentiments towards immigration and their impact on community cohesion. The session will also consider broader factors contributing to division, including the influence of social media and the role of far-right groups.
